When we started HOALife, it was because we saw firsthand how overwhelming HOA management could be. Tracking violations, handling homeowner requests, and managing community operations across scattered tools felt impossible to keep organized. The existing systems just didn’t meet the real needs of HOAs.
So, we built HOALife as the all-in-one solution we wished existed — designed specifically for HOA boards and managers, by HOA professionals.

Our journey
Walkthrough some of the milestones that have shaped HOALife.
1960s
The Birth of HOAs - Homeowners Associations began popping up alongside the boom of planned communities in the U.S., initially designed to preserve community standards and amenities. And so began the great journey of community harmony… and occasionally, “that one neighbor” who insisted on painting their house neon green.
1980s
By the 1980s, HOAs were booming. Communities adopted formal boards, rules, and processes. But with this growth came the reality: managing finances, enforcing rules, and handling maintenance was a lot more work than anyone expected. Volunteer boards stepped up, armed with dedication and a bit of duct tape.
2016
Facing inefficiencies and rising stress in his rapidly growing association management company, Tom realized HOA management needed a more efficient, all-in-one solution, and got to work.
2017
HOALife officially launches, focused on simplifying and automating HOA management.
2018
New differentiating features are rolled out, including tools for violations enforcement and homeowner portals.
2020
HOALife reaches 500 communities, with clients across nearly every state. Architectural requests and communications features launch with great reception.
2021
HOALife partners with organizations like The Trust for Public Land and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
2023
QuickBooks Online integration and a host of other core tools are added to make HOALife a true all-in-one solution.
2024
HOALife launches Online Voting and a dedicated "Ask a Manager" feature for support, enabling boards to get help on everything from budget questions to understanding why HOA lawn gnomes have limits.
